Fearful of ban, frenzied buyers swarm gun stores

NEW YORK (AP) ? The phones at Red's Trading Post wouldn't stop ringing. Would-be customers from as far away as New York wanted to know if the Twin Falls, Idaho gun shop had firearms in stock. Others clamored to find out if their orders had been shipped.

Overwhelmed, gun store manager Ryan Horsley had to do what no employee would ever think of doing just days before Christmas: He disconnected the phone lines for three whole days.

"We had to shut everything off," says Horsley, whose family has owned Red's Trading Post, the state's oldest gun shop, since 1936. "We were swamped in the store and online."

The phones at gun shops across the country are ringing off the hook. Demand for firearms, ammunition and bulletproof gear has surged since the Dec. 14 massacre in Newtown, Conn., that took the lives of 20 schoolchildren and six teachers and administrators. The shooting sparked calls for tighter gun control measures, especially for military-style assault weapons like the ones used in Newtown and in the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting earlier this year. The prospect of a possible weapons ban has sent gun enthusiasts into a panic and sparked a frenzy of buying at stores and gun dealers nationwide.

Assault rifles are sold out across the country. Rounds of .223 bullets, like those used in the AR-15 type Bushmaster rifle used in Newtown, are scarce. Stores are struggling to restock their shelves. Gun and ammunition makers are telling retailers they will have to wait months to get more.

Store owners who have been in the business for years say they have never seen demand like this before.

When asked how much sales have increased in the past few weeks, Horsley just laughed.

"We haven't even had a chance to look at it," he says. Horsley spends his days calling manufacturers around the country trying to buy more items for the store. Mainly, they tell him he has to wait.

Franklin Armory, a firearm maker in Morgan Hill, Calif., is telling dealers that it will take six months to fulfill their orders. The company plans to hire more workers and buy more machines to catch up, says Franklin Armory's President Jay Jacobson.

The shortage is leaving many would-be gun owners empty handed.

William Kotis went to a gun show in Winston-Salem, N.C., last weekend hoping to buy a rifle for target shooting. Almost everything was sold out.

"Assault rifles were selling like crazy," says Kotis, who is president and CEO of Kotis Holdings, a real estate development company based in Greensboro. "People are stockpiling."

He left without buying anything.

Luke Orlando's parents were able to get him the 12-gauge shotgun he wanted for Christmas to bird hunt, but his uncle wasn't as lucky.

"At Christmas dinner, my uncle expressed outrage that after waiting six months to use his Christmas bonus to purchase an AR-15, they are sold out and back ordered over a year," says Orlando, 18, a student at the University of Texas.

No organization publicly releases gun sales data. The only way to measure demand is by the number of background checks that are conducted when someone wants to buy a firearm. Those numbers are released by the Federal Reserve Bureau every month. Data for December is not out yet. But the Federal Bureau of Investigation says that it did 16.8 million firearm background checks as of the end of November, up more than 2 percent from a year ago.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation, which handles background checks for the state, can't keep up with the number of requests it is getting. The bureau has pulled staff from other units and increased its hours, says spokesperson Susan Medina.

Many firearm dealers and manufacturers say that Obama's comments since the Newtown school shooting are driving demand.

James Zimmerman of SelwayArmory.com, a website that sells guns, ammunition and knives, says that sales really took off on Dec. 19 after President Barack Obama held a White House press conference announcing that Vice President Joe Biden would lead a team tasked with coming up with "concrete proposals" to curb gun violence.

That day, one customer ordered 32,000 rounds of ammunition from SelwayArmory.com, worth close to $18,000. The order had to be shipped from the company's Lolo, Mont., office to Kentucky on a freight truck.

"I've done more sales in the week after the 19th than I have the whole year," says Zimmerman, who launched SelwayArmory.com in 2009.

At Lady Liberty Gunsmithing LLC in Atlantic City, N.J., a customer called last week asking if a pistol he wanted was available. When he was told there was only one left, he drove more than two hours from Newark, N.J., to buy it that same day.

"People want guns now even more than ever," says Guy Petinga II, whose father opened the store above his home in 1996.

Others saw demand immediately after the shooting.

Bullet Blocker, which makes bulletproof vests, briefcases and insert panels, saw sales of its children's backpacks suddenly jump.

"That's how I found out about the tragedy. I saw the sales rise and then turned on CNN," says Elmar Uy, vice president of business operations at the Billerica, Mass., company.

Bullet Blocker has sold about 50 to 100 bulletproof backpacks a day since the shooting, up from about 10 to 15 in a regular week. The children's backpacks, which are designed to be used as shields, cost over $200 each.

"I've never seen numbers like this before," says Uy.

DefaultAndroid 4.1.1 Jellybean autocorrect does not work, please help!
I have Predictive Text and Spell Correct turned on, but it still will not autocorrect my words. All it does is display a list of words it thought I meant to type above the keyboard. ICS did this exceptionally well, why don't JellyBean do it at all?

I really don't want to have to flash ICS back onto my S3, but if there is no workaround or patch for this in the near future, I will be forced to.

I am very disappointed in the new OS upgrade, for more reasons than just this, but this is the most serious and prevalent issue. I would really appreciate any and all help you guys can provide.

Thanks,
Dan

Pakistan: Cough syrup suspected in 33 deaths

(AP) ? Authorities are investigating cough syrup believed to have killed 33 people in eastern Pakistan in the past three days, a government official said Saturday, the second time in recent months that suspect medicine is thought to have caused multiple deaths.

Also Saturday, an explosion ripped through a passenger bus while it was at a terminal in the southern city of Karachi, killing four people and wounding 40 others, police and hospital officials said. It's unclear if the blast was caused by a bomb or a gas cylinder exploding.

The deaths from the cough syrup occurred in Gujranwala and villages surrounding the city, said Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, the top administrative official in Gujranwala. Another 54 people are being treated at hospitals in the city who are also believed to have consumed the syrup. Those involved are thought to be laborers or drug addicts who drank the syrup to get high, said Shaheen.

Chemical samples collected from the victims' stomachs contained dextromethorphan, a synthetic morphine derivative used in cough syrup that can have mind-altering effects if consumed in large quantities, said Shaheen. It is being investigated whether the people affected by the syrup in Gujranwala drank too much of it, or whether there was a problem with the medicine itself, he said.

Twenty-three people died in the nearby city of Lahore in November after drinking bad cough syrup sold under the brand name Tyno. They were also described at the time as people who consumed the drug to get high.

Shaheen said the cough syrup involved in the incidents in and around Gujranwala was not sold under a single brand. He said there were some people in the city involved in the business of making cough syrup specifically to sell to drug addicts, and officials were trying to arrest the culprits.

Officials temporarily closed one Lahore-based pharmaceutical company whose cough syrup was found in the possession of some of those affected in Gujranwala and were investigating whether it caused any of the deaths, said Shaheen.

The blast that ripped through the bus in Karachi on Saturday set the vehicle on fire and reduced it to little more than a charred skeleton. Police were trying to determine whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or a gas cylinder, said police spokesman Imran Shaukat. Many buses in Pakistan run on natural gas.

The explosion killed at least four people and wounded 40 others, some of whom were in critical condition, said Seemi Jamali, a doctor at the hospital in Karachi where they were being treated.

Karachi has a long history of political, ethnic and sectarian violence. It is also believed to be home to many Taliban militants who have fled U.S. drone attacks and Pakistani army operations in the country's northwest.

Five questions that will be answered by UFC 155

The UFC's end-of-the-year cards are usually stacked. Despite injuries, UFC 155 is no different. It features intriguing bouts that will answer some burning questions.

Did a knee injury hold back Cain Velasquez the first time he fought Junior dos Santos? When the two first met up last November, Velasquez reportedly had a badly injured knee. He was knocked out in 64 seconds. This time a (seemingly) healthy Velasquez will get to show if he deserves the heavyweight belt.

Has Chris Leben returned to form, for really real this time? Since Leben was on the original "Ultimate Fighter," he has been a man who wrestled with his demons. Most recently, those demons took the form of a banned pain killer which resulted in a one-year suspension from the UFC. Against Derek Brunson, Leben can show he's again the man who knocked out Wanderlei Silva.

Can Tim Boetsch be the next guy to challenge Anderson Silva? Though his original bout with Chris Weidman was called off because of an injury to Weidman, Boetsch still has another opportunity to show he can beat up opponents. He wants a chance to beat up Silva,* and this bout with Costa Phillippou is an opportunity for Boetsch's fighting to shine.

Or should Alan Belcher be the man to take on Silva? It's been more than three years since Belcher lost a fight. His last four fights have been stoppage wins. An impressive win over Yushin Okami could put him in line to fight for the middleweight belt.*

Is Todd Duffee still the knockout artist who once graced the octagon? Back in 2009, Duffee knocked out Tim Hague in a mere seven seconds. After that, the hype train was running behind him full steam. It was derailed when Mike Russow came back to knock Duffee out in the third round of their bout. Duffee was cut from the UFC, and is getting another shot at the octagon on Saturday. He'll fight Philip De Fries on the Facebook preliminaries, and get a chance to show if he can still knock people out very quickly.

*Assuming the next middleweight belt is based on competitiveness and earning a title shot by fighting, not by calling opponents out. Considering what has happened recently in the UFC welterweight and light heavyweight divisions, there are no guarantees.

Virtual women reveal more skin, regardless of body proportions

Dec. 26, 2012 ? In the virtual world of Second Life, female avatars expose substantially more skin than males, independent of their virtual body proportions, according to research published December 26 in the open access journal PLOS ONE by Matthieu Guitton and colleagues from Laval University, Canada.

The human tendency to cover up stems from climatic, environmental, physical and cultural constraints, so measuring people's propensity to reveal skin can be difficult in the real world. To study human behavior free of at least some of these constraints, the researchers analyzed how male and female avatars in the virtual, 3- dimensional world of Second Life dressed. Second Life offers users options to choose the gender, appearance and attire of their virtual avatars, and users can select clothing from several items created in this virtual world, rather than being restricted to a predefined costume.

They found that out of over 400 virtual people studied, 71% of male avatars covered between 75-100% of their skin, while only 5% of females did. In contrast, 47% of the virtual females they studied covered between 25-49% of their skin, compared to 9% of males. The amount of skin covered was independent of traditional gender-specific measures of physical attractiveness for virtual avatars, such as waist-chest ratios for females. According to the study, "These findings have implications for understanding how sex specific aspects of skin disclosure influence human social interactions in both virtual and real settings."

Guitton adds, "Virtual settings provide a unique tool to study human behavior unhindered by physical and environmental constraints. This tool enabled us to find a dramatic gender difference in the propensity to disclose naked skin."

Breadlines and fuel shortages as winter grips Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (Reuters) - In Syria's once-affluent merchant city of Aleppo, a 60-year-old man wrapped in several layers of clothes queues alongside his shivering grandchildren for bread - a daily and often fruitless ritual that consumes most of his day.

Shielding himself from the rain in Bustan al-Qasr, a rebel-held district in the south-west of Syria's biggest city, Alaa el-Din Hout says shortages of food and fuel are driving his family and many other residents to desperation.

"We're starving. I can bear it but what about my children? I stand from 3 in the afternoon until 11 at night and you can't always get bread," said Hout, wearing a winter hat and scarf to keep out the winter cold.

"We're reduced to either begging or stealing."

Five months after rebels brought their fight against President Bashar al-Assad into the heart of Aleppo, the eastern and southern swathes of the city are a mishmash of deserted districts and no-man's land.

Rebel fighters have hunkered down in warehouses to halt offensives by Assad's forces in the civil war. The few lucky bakeries in Aleppo that have supplies often have hundreds standing in line, hoping for a few loaves.

Abu Abdo, Hout's son-in-law, has three children, the youngest a 2-month-old baby shivering underneath wraps of blankets. "This is the hardest period I've ever gone through. There's no work, no industry, no electricity, no diesel. How will people live?" said the former stonemason.

"The people have a right to demand their freedom, that's the least of the demands - I am for the downfall of the regime."

"NO WATER, NO GAS"

The summer battles around Aleppo have subsided but Syrians in this city, whose peacetime population of 2.5 million has been reduced by an exodus of hundreds of thousands, are facing new challenges of winter cold and wartime shortages.

Some districts are faring better, with vegetable sellers laying out tomatoes and tangerines and falafel shops frying the ubiquitous bean food. But many people are too poor to afford it.

"We can't find any bread. There's a famine. People are dying, half the bakeries are closed. There's no flour," said one man in al-Sha'ar district.

Ahmed, a 42-year-old man with six children, said he queued from 8 in the morning. "Sometimes we get bread, sometimes we don't. There's no water, no gas, no electricity. The water supply runs out every two days."

Not all the city's residents hold Assad responsible for their suffering. Aleppo has traditionally been a city with divided loyalties and even in areas controlled by the rebels, some people have had enough of the daily shortages and blame them on the president's opponents.

"We don't leave our homes after 6 p.m. We just want peace again," said Um Saleh, a woman wearing a face veil and a full-length black wool coat. She blamed the Free Syrian Army rebels for hijacking bread lines to take loaves for their family.

Her husband Abu Saleh said "mistakes" had been made by Assad's officials but added: "You can't fix wrong with wrong."

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) ? Folks in a sleepy Louisiana town are angry about one homeowner?s unconventional holiday lights display.

According to WAFB, Police originally told Sarah Childs to take down her outdoor Christmas lights display in the shape of two hands extending the middle finger.

This after cops received complaints from neighbors about the display on Starlite Drive in Denham Springs.

In fact, one neighbor told WAFB that she could not believe someone would install such a display using Christmas lights.

However, Childs was awarded a temporary restraining order against the city ? and reinstalled the lights.

?We will show up if there?s a serious need, emergency, fire or requiring police protection or whatever ? but not to oppose this judge?s orders no way shape or form,? Denham Springs Mayor Jimmy Durbin said.

Childs filed suit against Denham Springs with help from the American Civil Liberties Union.

According to executive director Marjorie Esman, what some call offensive is Childs? guaranteed right to Freedom of Expression.

?If people find it distasteful or they don?t like it, well, that?s life,? Esman said. ?We all are exposed to things we don?t like, and people have different opinions. That?s what makes for a free society.?

The temporary restraining order gives Childs the right to use these lights to express herself at least until that January hearing.

However, neighbors said they have no problem with Childs? free speech?claim,?but worry about the display?s affect on little ones.

?Kids are going to look at those lights and wonder? ?what does that mean,? Todd Traylor, one of Childs? neighbors, said. ?How do you explain to a 4-year-old kid or a 2-year-old kid that doesn?t know what that means yet, and you try to shield them from stuff like that.??

A typical car employs an internal combustion engine that has a fuel-air mixture powering it. A hybrid auto on the other hand powers itself not only making use of the typical indicates nevertheless it also utilizes many different alternate signifies like fuel-cells and solar-energy to turn the wheels. That makes it much more atmosphere friendly and increases its mileage.

Some individuals believe that hybrid autos are the automobiles with the future. They say it really is what we?ll be driving inside a ten years time. It is true that hybrid vehicles have many strengths. But we must not neglect the shortcomings with the hybrid auto.
Frank Gore Jersey
Gas and oil are non renewable sources of energy. They also result in considerably harm towards the environment. There is a danger they may soon also be depleted from the earth. However, hybrid automobiles are environment friendly. They source of energy they use is renewable and for that reason they pose significantly significantly less threat for the world. Hybrid autos are efficient and save money on fueling.
Alex Smith Jersey
Performance Frank Gore Jersey wise, hybrid automobiles are rubbish. In the stage they at the moment are, they?re a lot more than most likely to break down right after traveling every single few miles. In the event you acquire a hybrid vehicle, leave for workplace an hour earlier than you used to before, since hybrid automobiles are significantly slower than standard autos. Because they?ve extremely much less power to run with, they may be created with as light bodies as possible. We want to shield the setting to protect our children. But when you are organizing to purchase them a hybrid auto to do so, the chances of them staying flattened by some larger automobile are a lot more. So if you wish to preserve your kids protected, why not purchase them a Land Rover as an alternative And then there?s the matter of electrical power yet again. With the level of electrical power a hybrid can supply, imagine the difficulty and time it would take to suit your needs to reach a higher altitude point using a relatively steep road, which is, in case you would ever handle to have up there on that auto.

No matter whether hybrid cars will probably be the long term with the auto industry, one particular can?t say for sure. But one issue is selected, where it stands these days is quite for from a point in which it is going to change the petrol or gasoline driven vehicles.

Good communication with vet will protect pets - Dog's Best Life ...

By Christie Long

We have a procedure we follow when clients leave their pets with us for routine anesthetic procedures. We make sure the animal has been feeling well, that it hasn?t been fed since the previous evening, and we ask if the owner has any concerns or questions about the procedure.

Yesterday, before leaving her cat with us for the day a client answered the last question with a question of her own. She asked us what were the chances that that her cat would be accidentally euthanized while it?s here.

It?s a startling question, but I know why she asked it. The news told recently of a cat euthanized by accident by a veterinarian on the East Coast. The cat was dropped off by the owner?s son for a flea bath; somehow, the wrong consent form was used and the son mistakenly consented to euthanasia.

I have no doubt that all parties involved, especially the veterinarian, are devastated by this tragedy. But it?s hard to figure how a communication error of this magnitude could have occurred. It?s not clear whether the technician simply grabbed the wrong form and said, ?sign here,? or whether she completely misunderstood what the owner wanted. What?s also puzzling to me is how a veterinarian gets handed a cat and told that the owner wants to euthanize it and then does it without being the slightest bit curious as to what has led the owner to that irreversible decision.

At our clinic, whenever a pet is left for any reason, we perform a complete verbal review with the owner of what procedures are to be performed and what the estimated cost will be. This happens whether the procedure is a nail trim or major surgery. Our consent form lists the authorized procedures that we have verbally agreed to, and the owner signs this and leaves the best phone number at which to be reached, should the need arise to change the agreed-upon plan.

It?s also our policy that euthanasia does not occur without the client meeting with the veterinarian to discuss the pet?s condition and the specific reasons that the owner has decided to euthanize it. No matter how busy we are, we always take the time to sit down with owners and counsel them. Sometimes we can provide other options, such as finding a new home for a pet that is no longer wanted or pain relief that might help an older animal feel well again.

I?d like to believe that this incident will inspire veterinarians around the country to review their procedures with respect to how they communicate with clients about their pets, who clearly can?t speak for themselves. As a pet owner you have a right to expect clear, concise communication regarding what happens to your pet when you leave it. You would expect no less from your auto mechanic, so why not demand it from your veterinarian?

Christie Long is a veterinarian at the VCA Animal Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. Long left her job in software sales in 2000 to travel for 13 months. Along the way, she was touched by the plight of the animals she saw and somewhere in the Nepalese Himalayas she vowed to return to school to become a veterinarian. While she often finds end-of-life situations heart-wrenching, she considers herself blessed to be called upon as a trusted adviser to families during difficult times. Dr. Long?s family includes her husband and travel partner, Wiley, their son, Wiley IV, their dogs Pancake and Gizmo and cats Sneaky and Sidh.

A detailed letter entitled Methodological flaws in the estimation of abortion in Latin America: Authors reply to Singh and Bankole was published today in Ginecologa y Obstetricia de Mxico (Ginecol Obstet Mex), a Mexican peer-reviewed journal specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The letter is a reply by researchers from the Institute of Molecular Epidemiology (MELISA) to researchers from the Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) regarding methodological flaws that led to a significant overestimation of induced abortions figures in the Federal District of Mexico (Mexico DF) before an after abortion legalization at this state. Our letter is part of an intense scientific debate in Ginecologa y Obstetrica de Mxico that addresses issues raised in a previous article by Susheela Singh and Akinrinola Bankole in representation of AGI regarding our evaluation of the methodology employed to estimate abortion figures; we provide additional information supporting conclusions of our multinational collaborative study published two weeks ago in the International Journal of Women's Health, showing that abortion figures and maternal mortality rates were largely overestimated in Mexico said Elard Koch, the Chilean epidemiologist leading the research.

An intense academic debate between Koch et al and researchers from AGI was initiated after a first original article published in May of this year in the same journal and entitled Overestimation of induced abortion in Colombia and other Latin American countries, including a thorough review of the methodology employed by AGI to estimate induced abortion figures in eight Latin American countries. The study showed that subjective opinion surveys used for obtaining abortion estimates were strongly exposed to recall and selection biases and were applied to a small sample of non-randomly selected individuals. Koch explained that as opposed to relying on subjective opinion surveys that overestimate at least 10-fold the number of abortions, estimation of abortion figures by using objective vital statistics and readily available information allows for any interested party to reproduce and/or corroborate the data, which is essential to all scientific research; furthermore, it offers the advantage of quantifying the potential error of the estimation method, as we recently illustrated in the case of Mexico DF said Koch.

The new article published this week in response to authors of AGI, also provides additional data illustrating the relative contribution of different causes of maternal death in Mexico during the last decade, when the adequate codes of the International Classification of Diseases are employed. The data, bound to refuel the abortion debate currently taking place in Mexico on account of the overestimation of Mexican maternal mortality rates by researchers of IPAS-Mexico. In fact, new complementary information shows that over 96% of total causes of maternal death were unrelated to induced abortion over the last decade. Koch additionally indicated that discrepancies arising from the use of inappropriate numerators and denominators to construct mortality ratios not only have led to overestimate maternal mortality rates in Mexico, but also have led to the erroneous conclusion of a null progress in maternal health over the last two decades in this country.

The last studies on maternal health in Mexico have proved to be very controversial since Koch et al detected that a study conducted by Rafaella Schiavon and colleagues from IPAS-Mexico, employed fictitious numbers of live births instead of the readily available figures of official registered live births for constructing maternal and abortion mortality ratios. Discrepancies arise when there is a significant difference between the projected (fictitious) and observed (actual) figures. Koch et al. found that projected figures of live births were between 300,000 and 700,000 lower than registered live births, in the period between 1990 and 2010. It is very hard trying to understand why Schiavon et al used fictitious denominators when actual data of live births are readily available in Mexico. Clearly, dividing any number of deaths by a figure of live births (projected) substantially smaller than the figure of registered live births (official) will unavoidably lead to a large error and overestimation in maternal mortality ratios explained Koch.

Interestingly, this new communication also provided a comparison of maternal mortality ratio (MMR) trends based on official data in the US and Chile during the last two decades. While Chilean MMR shows a downward trend, from 39.78 to 16.96 per 100,000 live births between 1990 and 2009, US MMR showed an upward trend, from 8.95 to 23.24 per 100,000 live births during the same period. These data further support the notion that legal abortion restrictions do not have necessarily and univocally a deleterious effect on maternal mortality rates, in agreement with the conclusions of the Chilean natural experiment published in May this year in PLoS ONE. Taking this into consideration and our more recent study on maternal mortality, it is very unlikely that maternal health can be significantly improved by changes in abortion legislation, simply because there is not a cause-effect relationship between the legal status of abortion and maternal mortality. In addition, because the contribution of illegal induced abortion to maternal mortality causes is marginal in comparison with other causes, more comprehensive strategies such as increasing access to emergency obstetric care and specialized obstetric and perinatal care are urgently required. Koch concluded.

HERSHEY, Pa.--The spread of cancer cells may be slowed by targeting the protein km23-1, according to researchers at Penn State College of Medicine.

A motor protein that transports cargo within the cell, km23-1 is also involved in the movement or migration of cells. Migration is necessary for cancer to spread, so understanding this cell movement is important for development of better cancer treatments.

Kathleen Mulder, Ph.D., professor, biochemistry and molecular biology, looked for partner proteins that bind to and cooperate with km23-1 during cell movement, which turned out to include factors that can control proteins actin and RhoA.

"Cell migration is an important aspect of the process of a tumor spreading," Mulder said. "Changes in this process transform tumor cells from local, noninvasive, confined cells to the migrating, metastatic cancer cells."

Cells move through the body using the protein actin, which forms the structural frame of the cell, called the cytoskeleton. The actin creates a protrusion in the cell membrane by forming strands of thread-like fibers on the leading edge of the cell, pushing the cell forward. Several identified proteins regulate the reorganization of the cytoskeleton and are more active in several types of cancers.

Overexpression of km23-1 increases actin fiber formation, whereas when km23-1 is diminished, RhoA activity decreases. RhoA is known to be an important switch, activating processes in migration.

"By knowing that RhoA activity was decreased when km23-1 was reduced, we infer that km23-1 is needed for the regulation of these switches and has a role in cell movement," Mulder said.

To test this in the lab, km23-1 was reduced in a sample of human colon cancer cells. When km23-1 was diminished, cancer cells migrated less. More research needs to be done, but km23-1 may be a promising target for anti-metastatic drugs and cancer therapies to slow the spread of the disease.

"By inhibiting km23-1, you inhibit events that contribute to the cells spreading to other parts of the body," Mulder said.
