Welcome to Triber Tales, our ongoing blog series featuring Bari stories told from our clients? points of view. These are tales of hard work, dedication and a whole lot of sweat; these are a testament to the mental and physical potency of having a strong, close-knit community at your disposal. This week, we?re turning the mic over to uber dedicated 7 a.m. Triber, Leah.
Leah, we remember the first day you walked into Bari and how we immediately fell in love with your passion, dedication and excitement about our community at Bari. We?re so proud to consider you part of our Tribe.
Dear fellow 7 a.m.-ers,
You are my morning sunrise. ?You are the caffeine kick start to my day. ?At times when I feel it may be impossible to lift myself out of bed, I think of the positive energy that is Bari.
In an unspoken pact to our health and fitness, we show up for a morning of intense sweating, jumping and fist pumping. We push through the burn together, moving through routines of leg lifts and free weights, toning every tiny muscle.
The next day I will be sore in the oddest of places and realize I love it. ?Each class is a time to take care of my mind and body and be a healthy person living with diabetes.
As the tribe members I see every morning, you are my invaluable cheer squad and support team. ??I make the effort each morning because exercise has proven invaluable in helping me maintain good blood sugar, but I stay because I know you will be there. ?I can forget, for that little while, the times I struggle to find the ?balance in living with diabetes. ?As I jump and jive, I can let loose. ?What better place to feel at home. ?As community members, we are held accountable for our actions, and Bari?s members are walking examples of health and wellness.
I know I am more apt to stick with an exercise program if it is a team effort. ?As a once excellent bench warmer in high school sports, I know how positive energy fuels a work out. ?At Bari, I have met people who are equally as dedicated to nurturing their well being through exercise and team spirit as I am. ?Your exemplar commitment to health reassures me that a balance of mind, body and community is important. ?Having a solid support team encourages us to be positive people, and happy people are healthy people. ?
Together we push each other to stay active and inspired in life. ?At times when I feel so frustrated and let down by life, I walk into Bari and experience a sense of belonging. ?I get through each day with the help of each and every one of you.
Thank you, Tribe!
Leah
